The Story of a Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. This is exactly what the book Quiet Girl in a Noisy World by Debbie Tung offers readers. Through her comics, Tung tells her own personal story of the ups and downs of coming of age as an introvert. What I love most about Quiet Girl in a Noisy World is that it’s the perfect blend of humour, and heart.   During our “quiet time,” we watch television. It's almost like I'm back in high school, all of us gathered around the set. Only we aren't watching “M*A*S*H” or “Dallas.”.

I’d forgotten what it was like to live with my mother, to care for her. For a long time, most of my life, in fact, it had been just me and her, but this pairing was unnatural.

- Grandma. “Mom,” she whispers, “I found your book.” I look down to see her holding a book with the title softly etched in the same tone: The Quiet Book. I smile at how well my kids know me. They know I like the quiet.

The television in our home is never on if nobody is watching it. I don’t like the background noise. - I Like Noisy, Mom Likes Quiet: A Mother's Day Story [ideals] on *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers.

He especially loves spinning the wheels in that book, but unfortunately they are paper, so they bend easily. I wanted to make a similar page in the quiet book that he wouldn’t be able to break.

In Be Quiet. a mouse wants to make a wordless book but his friends won't stop talking. I feel like this book is mostly adult jokes, but maybe kids will like it.

I'm not sure I'm personally brave enough to read it at storytime because I'm not good at voices. Maybe if I had a cast of characters to help me. I love the physical design of this book/5(). I loved the words to The Quiet Noisy Book. It is so evocative of early morning waking, when the senses are first coming back from dreamland--especially for the mind of a child, for they have the wonderful ability to simply "be" when they awaken and not have a wild rush of thoughts come in like /5(17).

A study by Oxford Economics discovered that one of the most important things the workplace could offer is “the ability to focus and work without interruptions.” So Monster found 10 careers that feature a relatively quiet work environment. These jobs typically involve working with numbers, data or papers—none of which talk back.

But noise does in fact create a meaning: first, because the interruption of a message signifies the interdiction of the transmitted meaning, signifies censorship and rarity; and second, because the very absence of meaning in pure noise or in the meaningless repetition of a message, by unchanneling auditory sensations, frees the listener’s.
